Permanent Account Number (PAN)

Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a 10 digit alpha numeric number issued by Income Tax Department. It is required to be obtained by all persons who wish to carry out the Financial Transactions in INDIA.

It has been introduced to facilitate linking of various documents viz., tax payments, TDS / TCS credits, return of Income, Specified Transactions, assessment etc relating to an assesse. It will also facilitate easy retrieval of information for detecting and combating tax evasion and widening of tax base. In simple words, it acts as an Identifier for the person with the Income Tax Department.

Indian PAN

NEW PAN for Indian Citizens

Indian citizens can apply by submitting duly filled and signed Form 49A.

Foreign citizens can apply by submitting duly filled and signed Form 49AA.

PAN Changes

Changes/Correction in PAN

Request for new PAN card or changes in existing PAN data.

Use Cases: Lost PAN card or updates to personal details

Requirements:: Proof of Identity, Address, Date of Birth is mandatory and Copy of PAN (if available)
